Heritage Trails
The Heritage Trail was established in 2002. It will take you back to the early Scottish settlement of Waipu, visiting landmarks and buildings. Each point on the Heritage Trail is identified by rugged limestone pillars.
We recommend that you allow approximately two hours by car to complete the Heritage Trail at a leisurely pace.
Finish by visiting one of Waipu’s cafes for lunch or dinner – or follow the coast road south to Waipu Cove and enjoy a barbeque at this popular surf beach .
A copy of the Heritage Trail map may be obtained from the Waipu Scottish Migration Museum.
