The proud history of Waipu is kept alive by over 70 volunteers.
Some of them look after the shop and the information centre. Some care for and manage the museum’s collection of artefacts, ship board diaries, navigational equipment, extensive photographs and interactive learning displays.
We also run a number of events in Waipu, which offer diverse volunteer roles. It is a great way to meet people if you are new to the area or would just like a new challenge.
If you have limited time or live outside the Bream Bay area, you can always support us and our role in the community by becoming a friend of the Museum, subscribing to our newsletter or making a donation or bequest.
